Fiel Houston Inc
About Fiel Houston Inc
FIEL Houston is the kind of organization that meets immigrant youth and families where the pressure is real, whether that means figuring out college applications, handling immigration forms, or getting through a Know Your Rights training. It also stands with people in the harder moments, including immigration court representation and appeals for those facing deportation. For donors, that means helping keep practical, everyday support close to the communities that need it most.
What sets FIEL Houston apart is that it is immigrant-led and stays close to the full arc of community life, from higher education access to legal help to civic engagement. A student can get help with FAFSA or TAFSA, and a family member can also get support with citizenship preparation, DACA, TPS, or deportation defense.

Our story
FIEL Houston grew out of the Espinosa family’s own immigration experience and early work on behalf of immigrant students. Olivia Espinosa immigrated from Mexico City to the United States in 1991, and the family later helped fight for in-state tuition for undocumented students in Texas in 2001, joined the local DREAMer movement in 2005, and founded FIEL in 2007 in a southwest Houston living room with five other college students.

They were extremely helpful throughout the entire process of my DACA.
Thanks! for helping former members and survivors of La luz del mundo cult to make justice and get immigration advice. To us your support was crucial and because of that we expanded our message not only in Houston and The United States but internationally.
