About Katy Cares Inc
When a single-parent family is facing trauma, separation, financial hardship, or another life-changing disruption, support needs to be practical and personal. Katy Cares offers free, trauma-informed counseling, mentoring, coaching, parenting education, and personal development programs in person and online across Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller Counties. Through services like Ready, Set, Go!, families can build skills for healthier relationships, effective parenting, emotional resilience, and greater stability.
Katy Cares gives single-parent families both structured education and individualized support. Its Ready, Set, Go! program pairs a professional group facilitator with an individual therapist, while additional coaching, mentoring, case management, and resource connections help families address emotional and practical challenges.

Ready, Set, Go! Parenting and Personal Development Program
A free, ten-module, certified evidence-based program for single-parent families. It covers self-care, meaningful connections, child development, family structures and values, parenting styles, co-parenting, crisis management, family resilience, and an integrated family project. Participants receive support from a group facilitator and an individual therapist, with in-person and online options.
Trauma-informed therapeutic counseling
Individual and group therapeutic support for single-parent families affected by trauma from events such as domestic violence, abuse, separation, divorce, financial hardship, and natural disasters.
Personal development coaching and mentoring
Coaching and mentoring that support emotional resilience, self-awareness, personal growth, and progress toward individualized goals.
Christian Counseling Component
Individual and group Christian counseling integrated into Katy Cares' trauma-informed parenting and personal development programs, addressing personal, emotional, spiritual, and relational challenges.
Life skills training
Training that helps single parents and children develop practical skills, healthy relationships, communication, emotional regulation, and resilience.
MindTown
A personal development module introduced in January 2025 that focuses on mental health, resilience, emotional intelligence, and stress management.
Grow Through Life
A free, four-phase development program for teens ages 11 to 15 that builds communication, decision-making, family relationship, and interpersonal skills.
Safari Adventure
Group-based social learning experiences for elementary school children focused on emotional resilience, self-awareness, interpersonal communication, assertiveness, and prosocial emotions.
Essential support services and resource connections
Support and connections related to practical needs such as food, clothing, furniture, school supplies, legal aid, affordable healthcare, housing resources, education, and other community services. Katy Cares does not provide housing, shelter, or direct financial assistance.
Case management and peer support
Case management, peer mentoring, multidisciplinary collaboration, and connections to resources addressing housing, education, healthcare, and other practical needs.

Single-parent families, especially single mothers and their children, who have experienced trauma or life-changing hardships including separation, divorce, abuse, intimidation, domestic violence, dysfunctional relationships, job loss, reduced income, loss of child support, financial challenges, or natural disasters. Katy Cares serves families across Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller Counties and extends support to individuals regardless of race, color, culture, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, background, or reputation.

Single-parent families can register for the free Ready, Set, Go! Parenting and Personal Development Program through Katy Cares' online registration form. Participants complete demographic, family, housing, language, and internet-access information and identify what they hope to gain from the program. Programs are available in person and online. Katy Cares serves families in Fort Bend, Harris, and Waller Counties and does not provide housing, shelter, or direct financial assistance.
