About Latterhouse Decor
After leaving a domestic violence shelter, survivors may be stepping into an empty house with very few belongings. LatterHouse Decor helps women and families turn that space into a nurturing home with free furnishings, household essentials, and personalized interior decorating. Clients help choose the colors, styles, and items they want, so the finished home reflects the person rebuilding her life there.
LatterHouse Decor focuses on the specific transition from a domestic violence shelter into a survivor’s own home. Along with providing free furnishings and essentials, it offers professional decorating and lets each client shape the space through a personalized Wishlist.

How someone in need can access Latterhouse Decor’s services.
Clients are referred by a local domestic violence shelter after transitioning from the shelter into their own home. Following receipt of the referral packet, LatterHouse Decor schedules a consultation to get to know the client, take before pictures, and review the client's Wishlist in person. The process then includes identifying needs, developing a design concept, researching donation resources, gathering and delivering items, preparing and designing the home, completing the installation, and taking after pictures.
