Overview

About Missoula Midtown Association

If you care about the future of Midtown Missoula, this is the group keeping the conversation grounded in real life, not just ideas on paper. The Missoula Midtown Association supports the businesses, residents, property owners, and visitors who shape the district every day, while also pushing the long-range planning that helps Midtown grow with some intention. Donations help keep that work moving, from member support and local communications to the Midtown Master Plan process.

This is a place-based organization with a very specific focus: Midtown Missoula. That focus lets it do the unglamorous but important work of business advocacy, neighborhood promotion, and long-range planning in the same district, with the same people in mind.

Our story

Founded in 1956, the Missoula Midtown Association started as a volunteer effort to organize businesses and residents and give Midtown a voice in Missoula’s future. In 2020, it set strategic goals around creating and implementing a Midtown Master Plan, which gave that long-running local effort a clearer path forward.

In their words

Midtown is in an exciting phase of growth and revitalization.
Without a community vision for Midtown, we risk being caught flatfooted when demand for development increases beyond our community capacity to manage it appropriately.
We are incredibly grateful for her years of advocacy, her vision and her ability to help make big goals a reality to ensure residents and businesses in the center of this valley have a vibrant and accessible place to live and work.
