About Mosaic Advocacy
When a child enters foster care, parents are asked to navigate court hearings, services and CPS communications while working toward reunification. Mosaic Advocacy gives them a guide who has lived through child removal, completed a service plan and reunited with their own children. Support can include case navigation, resource connections, co-parenting help and follow-up for two years after a child returns home.
Mosaic Advocacy’s mentors are paid parent partners who have personally experienced child removal and reunification. The organization also helps biological and foster parents build co-parenting relationships, then stays connected with families for two years after reunification.

Mission
Mosaic Advocacy supports parents navigating the child welfare system by providing mentorship, guidance and connections to resources that help families heal and grow. Through living experience support and community partnership, it works to reunify children with their biological caretakers, shorten time in foster care and break cycles of system involvement for future generations.

Parents in Texas involved with Child Protective Services whose children have been placed in foster care, including parents navigating court-ordered services and families after reunification. The current application page identifies Travis County and Williamson County as service areas. Mosaic Advocacy also provides information for foster parents, expectant parents and parents who are incarcerated.

How someone in need can access Mosaic Advocacy’s services.
Parents with an open CPS case whose children have been placed in foster care can apply for the parent mentor program. The application currently accepts cases in Travis County and Williamson County, Texas. Applicants provide information about the parent, county of residence and case, after which Mosaic Advocacy reviews the application and contacts the applicant about acceptance. During the case, a parent mentor provides support with court and meetings, court-ordered tasks, CPS navigation, resources and co-parenting. After reunification, Mosaic Advocacy continues checking in and addressing needs for two years. People outside the listed counties can email info@mosaicadvocacy.org for possible resource connections.

Parent partners are paid employees who have had their children removed by the state, completed their service plans and reunified with their children. They have been reunified for at least 12 months before mentoring other parents.

Can a parent partner replace an attorney?
No. Parent partners do not replace attorneys or other members of a child welfare case team. They work alongside the parent and the child welfare team to support safe reunification.

No. Mosaic Advocacy is an independent nonprofit. It accepts referrals from and works alongside social workers and caseworkers employed by state agencies.
