About North Texas Prostate Cancer Coalition
A prostate cancer diagnosis can leave men and their families sorting through screening information, treatment decisions, and side effects. North Texas Prostate Cancer Coalition helps make that process less isolating by connecting people with long-term survivors, support groups, educational presentations, and screening opportunities across North Texas. Your donation supports practical information and personal connections for men who are newly diagnosed, newly treated, experiencing recurrence, or seeking answers about their risk.
NTxPCC puts survivor experience close to the people who need it, through phone conversations, face-to-face chats, and visits to newly treated patients at selected hospitals. It also coordinates local support groups, supports community screenings, and offers educational materials in English and Spanish, with an annual symposium that brings together specialists, survivors, and other speakers.

Speakers’ Bureau
Provides presentations to social organizations about prostate cancer, early detection, screening, risk factors, and related topics.
Long-Term Survivor Program
Connects prostate cancer survivors with newly diagnosed and other survivors to discuss treatment experiences, side effects, concerns, and questions. The program also provides spousal support and survivor visits to newly treated patients at selected hospitals.
Let’s Talk on Tuesday survivor chat
Offers face-to-face conversations where newly diagnosed, newly treated, and recurring survivors can consult long-term survivors about their experiences.
Screening Support
Supports prostate cancer screening events with volunteers, educational presentations, flyers, and information for men attending screenings.
Health Fair Support
Provides prostate cancer education and materials at health fairs and community wellness events.
Annual Prostate Cancer Symposium
An annual educational event featuring prostate cancer specialists, survivors, and other speakers.
Newly Diagnosed Program
Helps newly diagnosed men obtain basic information for treatment decision-making and connect with long-term survivor volunteers by phone or in person.
Educational brochures and materials
Provides English and Spanish materials including “What You Should Know About Prostate Cancer” and “Get Educated About Prostate Cancer.”
Support group coordination
Coordinates information about prostate cancer support groups in the North Texas and Dallas-Fort Worth areas and provides information about local events.
Free screening event support
Supports or publicizes free PSA testing and prostate cancer screening opportunities in North Texas communities.
About this work
Mission
To inform the Texas community by providing coordinated educational support about prostate cancer for all men and their families, and to be a collective voice in elevating prostate cancer to major health priority status in the State of Texas through increased awareness and advocacy.
Who they serve
Men and their families affected by prostate cancer, including men who are at risk, newly diagnosed, newly treated, experiencing recurrence, or seeking information about screening. The organization also provides information for African American men and men with first-degree relatives diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Their impact
- NTxPCC attended 16 health fairs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex during 2018.
- More than 150 men received free prostate testing at the Wheels for Wellness event in the year before the 2023 event.
- About 170 men were screened at the 2023 Healthy Lives Matter event.

How does the Newly Diagnosed Program work?

What happens at the Let’s Talk on Tuesday survivor chat?
Newly diagnosed, newly treated, and recurring survivors meet face to face with long-term survivors to talk through their experiences and questions about prostate cancer. The program meets Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Who can use the free screening opportunities listed by NTxPCC?
The listed Moncrief mobile screening program offers free PSA tests to people with a prostate who are ages 40 to 69, do not have health insurance, or would otherwise have trouble paying for the test. Other community events have their own screening requirements.
