Sleep In Heavenly Peace Inc
About Sleep In Heavenly Peace Inc
Sleep in Heavenly Peace makes a very specific kind of help: a fully furnished bed, built by volunteers and delivered to a child who needs one. That matters because a bed is not a small thing, it is where a kid gets to rest, read, and start the next day with their own space. In 2024, volunteers helped build 76,829 beds and delivered 75,940 more, reaching children in over 19,000 families.
SHP stays focused on one concrete need, a real bed, not just bedding or a piece of furniture. Its local chapter model also gives people a straightforward way to show up, build, and deliver close to home, while national service days and disaster relief extend that help when families need it most.

Our story
Sleep in Heavenly Peace started in Twin Falls, Idaho in 2013 with a bed build for one family. A Facebook post brought in volunteers, the work began in a garage at Christmas time, and what started small grew into a chapter network that later expanded to Canada in 2019.

The people behind the work.
In their words
NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!
It was about so much more than the bed.
I really felt this opportunity was put in front of me for a reason.
Those kids’ faces. From when we went on our first delivery at training to any delivery we do today, to see those faces light up when they see their new bed. Priceless.

Volunteers age 12 and older can help build, and the process is family friendly.
