A Buddy For Life Inc
About A Buddy For Life Inc
Some animals need a foster home before they can even think about a forever one. That is where A Buddy For Life Inc comes in, placing dogs and cats, including medical and behavioral cases, with foster families and approved adopters. If you care about keeping animals from being discarded and helping them land somewhere safe, this is the kind of rescue that makes that possible.
A Buddy For Life Inc does its work without a shelter facility, which keeps the focus on foster homes and the people who open them. It is especially willing to take on dogs and cats with medical or behavioral needs, including animals that may stay in long-term foster care.

Mission
We believe that every living creature deserves love and security, and to be treated with the respect and responsibility that come with belonging to a family. Our goal is to save the lives of as many dogs and cats as we are able to, making sure that each of those lives, in turn, touches another. To support that goal we find foster families to protect those who would otherwise be discarded and to teach the abused that they are worth our time and affection.

Our story
A Buddy For Life Inc began in 2006 as a small foster-based rescue created in honor of Buddy, a Chocolate Lab found wandering along a busy road. Its director started the rescue on her own, and it grew over time, including a period when it took on a government animal control contract. After that, the rescue returned its focus to fostering, adoption, and medical and behavioral cases.
Need help?
How someone in need can access A Buddy For Life Inc’s services.
Prospective adopters submit an application before meeting an animal. References are checked, a meet and greet is scheduled after approval, and a home visit is required before or at the time of adoption. If the right match is not available, the rescue works with other rescues and shelters to help find one.
