Austin Siamese Rescue Inc
About Austin Siamese Rescue Inc
Austin Siamese Rescue works with cats that need more than a quick intake and a cage, it places them in private foster homes where volunteers can help them settle, recover, and get ready for adoption. The rescue focuses on Siamese cats and their non-Siamese companions in Austin and Central Texas, including animals from shelters, abandoned or neglectful situations, mixed litters, and surrender situations. If you care about the quiet, practical work that gets a cat from uncertain circumstances to a permanent home, this is the kind of rescue that does that step by step.
What sets Austin Siamese Rescue apart is the foster-home model. Cats are cared for in private homes instead of a central shelter, which keeps the work personal and hands-on while they wait for adoption. It also stays focused on Siamese cats and their non-Siamese companions, while still helping other cats that come in through mixed litters or urgent need.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about this nonprofit and how its work happens.
Are ASR cats full-breed Siamese?
Austin Siamese Rescue works with Siamese and Siamese-mix cats, but it cannot promise every cat is a full-breed Siamese unless pedigree has been confirmed by a breeder or previous owner.
What if I have specific questions about a cat?
Contact the foster caretaker directly. Their email is listed in the bottom-right corner of the cat’s full profile.
How do I adopt a cat?
Start with the Available Cats, open the cat’s full profile, then contact the foster caretaker or submit an adoption application from the profile or the Adopt menu.
What is the application process?
Applications are screened with reference checks, telephone interviews, and sometimes home visits. After references and vet checks are complete, applicants are contacted for a phone interview, and the process may take 7 to 14 days.
Why are kittens often adopted in pairs?
Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or placed with another playful cat or pet, so they have companionship and social learning during their early months.
