About Bikedfw
A bike ride can start with learning the basics, finding a route, or simply getting the right lights. Since 2019, Bikedfw has helped people across North Texas ride more safely and confidently through education, community rides, maps, public safety campaigns, and support for safer streets. Your gift supports practical help for riders of all ages, while also backing the connected trails and transportation systems that make biking, walking, and transit more useful across the region.
Bikedfw works at both the rider level and the regional level. It offers one-on-one instruction, skills classes, bike light distribution, and community rides, while also mapping local connections and advocating for safer streets, connected trails, and multimodal transportation across North Texas.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about this nonprofit and how its work happens.
How are BikeDFW bicycle education courses structured?
Local instructors teach teens ages 13 and up and adults one-on-one or in small groups. Students can bring a properly fitting bicycle with hand brakes. Limited loaner bikes are available upon request.
What does the Community Maps Project provide?
The project provides routes using off-street trails, protected paths, and community-recommended on-street connections. Experienced riders create the routes, and volunteers review them, adding notes and cue sheets. RideWithGPS users can pin the routes for offline maps and turn-by-turn navigation.
What is Momentum: Books in Motion?
Momentum: Books in Motion is a facilitated conversation series, not a lecture or class. You do not have to finish the book or attend every session, and an optional 3 to 5 mile social ride follows the discussion.
How can a business or organization partner with BikeDFW?
Community partners can offer discounts to BikeDFW members, donate part of their sales, or share BikeDFW membership information with customers and staff. They can also support classes, Light It Up, Ride Kind, and community events.
