About Cancer Fighters Of Houston Inc

Cancer Fighters of Houston started with nine Houstonians pooling $100 each, and it still carries that same neighbor-to-neighbor energy. The group raises money for cancer research through lectures, seminars, and community events across Houston, while also supporting seed grants and an annual scholarship for an endoscopy technician student. If you want to back an organization that keeps the focus on both research and education, this is a clear one to know.

What sets Cancer Fighters of Houston apart is how directly it connects public-facing fundraising with practical support for research and training. The group doesn’t stop at event nights and lectures, it also awards seed grants and supports an annual scholarship for HCC endoscopy technician training.

Origin

Our story

In the spring of 1980, nine female Houstonians came together to start Cancer Fighters of Houston after cancer had touched their families and close friends, and one founder was living with breast cancer herself. They each put in $100, then built the organization around a shared effort to support the fight against cancer through research, education, and clinical service.
