Community Bicycle Shop Of Omaha
About Community Bicycle Shop Of Omaha
At Community Bicycle Shop Of Omaha, the point is simple: if you need a bike, the tools to keep it rolling, or the know-how to fix it yourself, this is a place to get all three. The shop offers open DIY repair access, Earn-A-Bike classes, and other low- to no-cost bicycle options for Omahans of all ages. For donors, that means helping more people get where they need to go with a little more independence and a lot less financial barrier.
This is the only local place for people of all ages to get bikes, tools, and cycling education without financial barriers. That matters because the shop does not stop at handing over a bicycle, it also gives people the space, instruction, and confidence to use and maintain it.

Our story
Community Bike Project of Omaha began in 2007 when volunteers and activists created an open shop where people could come in and work on their bike for free. What started as a volunteer-run transportation equity initiative grew into a staff-run, volunteer-supported nonprofit bike shop and trusted community space that stays open year-round.
