About Concho Valley Home For Girls Inc
When a family situation is no longer safe or livable, Concho Valley Home for Girls offers girls ages 8 to 17 a home-like place to live, attend public school, build healthy relationships, and prepare for adulthood. Highly individualized care
Assesses each resident’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests to plan activities that encourage pro-social behavior and healthy relationships with adults and peers.
Counseling and recreational therapy
Provides group and individual counseling, recreational therapy, and family counseling when included in a child’s service plan.
Educational resources
Offers in-home tutoring, a working relationship with the San Angelo Independent School District, and supervised access to computers and the Internet.
Life skills and employment preparation
Residents complete household chores, receive education-related support, and may have opportunities for part-time employment and financial literacy when school is not in session.
Transitional services for youth leaving care
The Transition Center assists young people moving from foster care to independent living with housing, budgeting, employment, and other transition needs.
Family transition planning
Assists girls returning to their families and helps children and families identify ways to address likely transition-related challenges.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families foster youth project
Supports young adults ages 16 to 26 who currently are or previously were in foster care with financial assistance for housing, utilities, vehicle maintenance, and childcare, educational and professional incentives, and life skills training.
Transition assistance for young adults without a support system
Helps young adults ages 16 to 26 find employment and provides financial assistance until they can cover living expenses independently.
Referral services
Works with other organizations or agencies when a child needs a higher level of care or when the Home is unable to meet a family’s needs.

Mission
Concho Valley Home for Girls provides year-round family housing and care for disadvantaged girls in Texas and the four bordering states. It provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth from unlivable family situations and offers basic residential child care for disadvantaged and at-risk girls.
