Overview

About Emilys Smile Boxes

Emilys Smile Boxes gives children in hospitals, their siblings, and children recovering at home toys and activities to help brighten challenging medical experiences. More than 27,000 Smile Boxes have been delivered around the world, with volunteers assembling them at community events and the organization delivering or shipping them to hospitals and families across the United States and internationally. A gift helps put coloring books, puzzles, games, stuffed animals, and other small comforts into a child’s hands when they need them.

Emily's Smile Boxes began with a ten-year-old noticing how boring and upsetting hospital stays could be for children and siblings. Today, volunteers make boxes at community events, with individual Smile Box Making Parties producing approximately 200 to 400 boxes, while the organization also raises awareness about pediatric strokes.
