New Hope For Cambodian Children
About New Hope For Cambodian Children
New Hope for Cambodian Children is built around a simple but unusually steady promise, care does not stop when a child grows up. At Our Village, children live in family-style homes, get medical care, and go to school. Later, New Hope House, New Hope Plus, and education and training support help young adults keep going through university, vocational school, appointments, and everyday needs. If you want to back an organization that stays with people over time, this is the kind of work that matters.
What sets NHCC apart is how long it stays in the picture. A child can move from residential care to supported housing, then keep getting help through New Hope Plus with counseling, medication access, transportation, and reunions. That kind of continued support is rare, and it is the heart of the organization’s approach.

Our story
John and Kathy Tucker came to Cambodia in 2000 to work with the Maryknoll organization, supporting adults dying with AIDS. They saw how many children were left without care, and how many were living with HIV themselves. They began raising funds for antiretroviral medication through Little Sprouts, then founded New Hope for Cambodian Children in 2006 to expand that support for children living with HIV/AIDS in Cambodia.
In their words
Mother Teresa: "It's the greatest poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish."
Events
New Hope Plus reunions
Reunions at Our Village that reconnect young adults with one another and with NHCC directors, including the November 25, 2023 reunion attended by 77 young adults and their families.
