Roman's Pfr Dogs
About Roman's Pfr Dogs
Project Freedom Ride is for the dogs who need a way out, and the people willing to help them get there. It connects unwanted and abandoned dogs in Texas and Georgia with families, rescues, humane societies, and loving homes across the U.S. and parts of Canada. Donor support helps cover the pre-transport care, fuel, and vehicle costs that make each move possible.
What sets Project Freedom Ride apart is how it started, with Roman McConn helping shelter dogs as a child, and how it still works now, through transport logistics and pre-transport vetting rather than a single shelter. It is built around getting dogs out of high-kill areas and into the next place where they can be adopted or cared for.

Our story
Roman McConn learned at a young age that not all dogs make it out of shelters alive. While his dad was stationed in San Angelo, Texas, he began visiting local shelters and making videos to help dogs find homes, and Project Freedom Ride was born in December 2016. Its first transport moved 31 dogs from Texas to Washington, and the work grew from there into a donation-driven transport effort.
