About Saving Our Companion Animal
Since 2015, Saving Our Companion Animals, Fort Bend County has found homes for more than 1,500 dogs and cats. The volunteer-run organization gives homeless, sick, injured, and urgent shelter pets the time and care they need, including foster homes, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and help finding permanent families. Your support also helps local animals reach adoption opportunities beyond Texas, while giving community cats and pets needing re-homing a path forward.
SOCA-FBC gives Fort Bend County animals more adoption opportunities through its own transport van, which can carry an average of 30 animals per trip to partners and homes elsewhere in the country. It also places sterilized, vaccinated, treated, and ear-tipped cats in barn and shop settings through a county Trap-Neuter-Release program.

Pet rescue and adoption
Rescues homeless, sick, injured, urgent, and needy shelter pets and places dogs and cats in permanent homes.
Foster care
Provides temporary foster homes for dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, including animals that are too young for adoption or recovering from illness or injury.
Veterinary care and rehabilitation
Provides medical care, vaccinations, spay and neuter services, emergency responses, physical therapy, behavioral support, and rehabilitation for animals in its care.
Animal transport
Transports homeless animals from Fort Bend County to adoption partners and homes in other areas of the country.
Adoption events and outreach
Organizes adoption events, promotes adoptable animals, and provides information through community events, stores, restaurants, and other establishments.
Barn and shop cat adoption
Places sterilized, vaccinated, treated, and ear-tipped cats in barn and shop settings through a county Trap-Neuter-Release program.
Pet rehoming referrals
Supports rehoming pets through Adopt-a-Pet's Rehome Online Service.
Animal food, supplies, and boarding
Provides food and supplies for animals in foster care and boards animals until foster homes become available.

People seeking to adopt or foster can submit the appropriate online dog or cat application. Adoption applicants complete an application, phone interview, home visit, adoption paperwork, fee payment, and a 24-hour sleepover before finalization. People seeking to re-home a pet can use Adopt-a-Pet's Rehome Online Service and designate SOCA-FBC as the referring rescue.
