About Vickery Meadow Learning Center
A parent can attend free English classes while their young child learns in a literacy-rich early childhood program. In 2024-2025, Literacy Achieves served more than 950 adults and 282 children, with 700 referrals and 878 one-on-one consultations helping students connect with community resources. Your support helps Dallas families build language, computer, citizenship, and life skills together.
Literacy Achieves makes learning possible across generations: adults study English while their children, ages 4 months to 5 years, take part in early childhood education. Alongside classes, students can access citizenship preparation, computer instruction, individualized support, and referrals for legal, financial, health, and other community resources.
Programs

Adult English Literacy Program
Free morning, afternoon, evening, and online classes with up to seven English proficiency levels, including classroom and computer instruction.
Citizenship Preparation
Citizenship instruction and one-on-one tutoring for the naturalization interview are available at select locations.
Early Childhood Education Program
Free, literacy-rich early childhood education for children ages 4 months to 5 years whose parent or guardian is concurrently enrolled in adult English classes.
Parent and Child Together Activities
Bi-weekly Parent and Child Together activities are offered through the early childhood program.
Parenting Classes
Parenting classes are offered to parents participating in the early childhood program.
Student Support Services
Individualized assistance, referrals to community resources, and enrichment programs and presentations on legal and financial resources, nutrition, family engagement, and health resources.
Computer and Technical Skills Instruction
Computer instruction is included in adult English classes, with additional support for improving technical skills.
