Women On A Mission
About Women On A Mission
Women On A Mission gives girls ages 13 to 18 a real path to grow, through monthly mentoring sessions, developmental reading, goal-setting, and a conference that brings in parents, guardians, and educators too. The work is rooted in Omaha and reaches across Nebraska, with a clear focus on helping women and girls reach their full potential. It also makes room to honor the women whose leadership has already shaped the community, which gives the mission a sense of history as well as momentum.
What stands out here is the way the organization keeps its focus on girls ages 13 to 18 while also creating public moments to recognize women leaders in the community. The WIG Mentoring Program, Girls' Conference, Mejias Family Scholarship, and Legacy Gala each serve a different purpose, but they all point back to the same idea: support should be practical, visible, and rooted in community.
