Overview

About Baby's Bounty

Baby's Bounty serves at-risk families in Nevada with practical help that matters right away, from baby bundles to diaper banks to safe sleep education. The work is especially grounded in the first months of a baby’s life, when a crib, diapers, wipes, and clear guidance can change what home feels like. It also reaches parenting students, state employees in the Infant to Work program, and families facing diaper need through partner referrals and recurring distributions.

What sets Baby's Bounty apart is that diaper support does not stop at distribution. The organization pairs assistance with required safe sleep education, then extends that help through school-based, workplace-based, mobile, and disaster-relief programs across Nevada.

Origin

Our story

Baby's Bounty began in July 2008, when Kim Amato saw how homelessness was affecting families with young children. After researching how often newborns were leaving the hospital without basics like clothing, diapers, a car seat, or a crib, she started gathering items to build Baby Bundles from her living room.

For the community

Need help?

How someone in need can access Baby's Bounty’s services.

Families seeking a Baby Bundle must be referred by a partner agency, be pregnant within 45 days of delivery or have a baby through six months of age, have not received a bundle before, and attend the Safe Sleep & Baby Basics class. Diaper bank participants preregister for a location, bring photo ID and proof of parental relationship for each registered child, and attend during the scheduled distribution hours. The TANF diaper program requires online registration and eligibility verification.

Stories

The people behind the work.

A student mother finding support through diapers

A UNLV student and mother of three described being inspired by the mission to help impoverished families after experiencing homelessness as a teenager.

"I am a 25 year old student at UNLV and a mother of three beautiful children. I would like to comment how I was inspired by your mission helping impoverished families who have just been gifted the most precious thing they'll ever be given, a baby. I had my daughter at 16 and was homeless. The feeling of hopelessness like I experienced should not be in the minds of mothers but instead should be enjoying the blessing they've just received. Thank you for all that you do!" Makayla P

A mother receiving a new Pack & Play

A parent shared gratitude after receiving a brand-new Pack & Play and said the gift brought tears of appreciation.

"I sure am grateful for your kind generosity and care for my daughter’s well being. The Pac & Play (we received) is BRAND NEW and is so adorable. I love it. These gifts made me tear up to think how loving and thoughtful Baby’s Bounty has been to my daughter and I. I send you great thanks and endless love! God bless you always." Jennie H

A family relieved to receive essential items

A recipient said the organization helped provide items that would have been difficult to afford for a child.

"I would have struggled to provide these items for my child. Baby’s Bounty has helped us graciously and we are truly appreciative for this and the things we’ve received. Thank you all soo much!" Layni R
