About Collective for Orphan Care and Education
For poor and/or orphaned Kenyan youth, especially young women, school can depend on more than tuition. The Collective for Orphan Care and Education helps cover education costs and basic needs, while also supporting partner schools and developing the Sijowa Community Library. In 2022, every COCE-sponsored student scheduled to graduate from high school did so, giving donors a clear reason to support education that continues toward a student’s goals.
COCE does not treat education sponsorship as a one-time step. When it begins sponsoring a student, it commits to funding that student’s education through their goals, including post-secondary pathways when applicable, while also supporting school infrastructure and community literacy.

Education cost sponsorship
COCE sponsors educational costs for poor and/or orphaned youth, including secondary school, university, professional certificate, vocational, and technical education.
Basic needs support
COCE provides basic needs support for poor and/or orphaned youth alongside educational assistance.

COCE builds classrooms and provides desks for partner schools, including Nangina Mixed Primary.
Sijowa Community Library
COCE is developing a community library to expand educational and literacy opportunities.
