Overview

About Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center

Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center gives survivors of sexual violence a place to call, a place to go, and people who stay with them through the hardest parts. Its services are free, confidential, and bilingual, with counseling, advocacy, hospital accompaniment, and a 24-hour hotline all under one roof in Dallas. For donors, the appeal is straightforward, this is direct survivor support paired with public education that reaches beyond the moment of crisis.

Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center is the only independent, comprehensive rape crisis center in Dallas County. That matters because it can offer 24-hour support, bilingual services, and prevention education in one place, while also building survivor-led and student-led programming that reaches schools and campuses.

Origin

Our story

Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center began as Dallas County Sexual Assault Services in 2007. In 2009, it received 501(c)(3) status and began operating as Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center. In 2010, it opened its 24-hour sexual assault hotline and partnered with THR Dallas to provide advocacy for Dallas County’s first hospital-based SANE program. From there, it expanded into counseling, education, volunteer training, and broader community engagement.
