Donna Street Community Center gives youth and families in North Las Vegas a neighborhood place to land. Inside, you find tutoring, meals, free technology access, mentoring, job placement support, and community events, all serving children and youth ages 5 to 18 in an underserved community. For donors, the appeal is simple: this is a center built around what families actually need day to day. It is also a place that treats enrichment as part of support, not an extra. Along with academic help and food resources, the center offers music, arts, financial literacy, restorative practices, and culturally relevant activities for young people.

Community engagement events with law enforcement to build trust and strengthen relationships.

To take back every block to revitalize a vibrant community that fosters a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for youth and families by providing essential services, educational opportunities, and community engagement activities.

- 772 people attended the community events during the year.
- 2,547 meals were served to youth and families during the year.
- More than 100 volunteers helped construct the kid-designed playground in February 2024.

Our story
Robert Strawder Jr. started Donna Street Community Center after growing up on Donna Street and seeing food scarcity, limited resources, crime, gangs, and barriers to technology. He opened the center to create a safe, welcoming space where young people and their families could find hope, support, and opportunity. The center later had a grand reopening in February 2023.
