Overview

About Gulfton Home Community

Gulfton Home Community keeps its work close to home in Houston’s Gulfton and Sharpstown neighborhoods, where families can find health, nutrition, education, and art programs in one familiar place. That includes the Chau Diabetes Program, community health fairs, English and computer classes, art education, citizenship education in Spanish, and community advocacy. If you care about practical support that meets people where they are, this is the kind of local nonprofit that makes that easy to understand.

What sets Gulfton Home Community apart is how rooted it is in the neighborhood. Its work grows out of San Mateo Episcopal Church, and its health efforts include community health workers from the community itself, bilingual outreach, and diabetes prevention support built around local groups.
