About Rescue Me
Rescue Me is the kind of rescue that starts with the real work: a foster home, medical care, and a plan for where each cat belongs next. It brings in cats and kittens in need, vets them, and matches them with approved adopters looking for a compatible forever pet. For outdoor community cats, it also mentors and facilitates trap-neuter-return, so the help doesn’t stop at the front door.
Rescue Me does this without a facility or permanent shelter, which means volunteers and foster families are the whole engine. That foster-based setup keeps cats in homes while they’re being cared for, treated, and placed, and it also leaves room for TNR support in the communities it serves.

Foster-based cat and kitten rescue

Medical care and vetting

Adoption matching and placement
Adoption coordinators match cats with approved adopters and place them in compatible forever homes.
Trap-Neuter-Return support
Rescue Me mentors and facilitates TNR, including humane live traps, sterilization, vaccination, and return of outdoor community cats.
Adoption meet-and-greet events
Fosters bring adoptable cats and kittens to recurring meet-and-greet events at Petco Highland Village.
Re-homing support for selected cases
In limited situations, Rescue Me may consider re-homing requests when a willing foster is in place and the cat meets its placement requirements.

People who find a cat or kitten can email admin@rescue-me.org and start with their location, city, and state. Rescue Me can partner to vet the animal and find it a home, and it can help with humane live traps for ferals. For sick or injured animals, it recommends contacting local animal control if the cat cannot be handled, or taking a safely handled cat to the nearest veterinarian or emergency clinic.

recurringRescue Me fosters bring many kittens and cats to Petco Highland Village for meet and greets. Approved applications and adoptions are not accepted at the event, and RSVP is not required.
