Overview

About Southern Nevada Parrot Education Rescue & Rehoming Society

SNPERRS helps exotic companion birds, especially parrots, move from surrender to a better fit through rescue, fostering, adoption, and education. Based in Las Vegas and run by volunteers, the organization keeps the focus on finding loving, permanent homes for each bird. If you care about what happens after a bird can no longer stay where it is, this is the kind of hands-on work that matters.

SNPERRS works only with exotic companion birds, with a particular focus on parrots, so its support stays centered on one very specific need. Along with rehoming, it also offers bird care education and behavioral counseling, which helps people make smarter decisions before and during the transition to a new home.

Our story

Founded in 2008, SNPERRS is a 501(c)(3) run by volunteers who give their time and resources to help exotic companion birds find loving homes. Its Bird Care 101 education work was developed by founding members Mark Romansky and Madeleine Franco, who together bring nearly 50 years of birdkeeping experience.

For the community

Need help?

How someone in need can access Southern Nevada Parrot Education Rescue & Rehoming Society’s services.

People who need to rehome a bird can complete the bird donation form with the owner's full written consent, and the rehoming committee can help with the process. People who want to adopt or foster a bird should become members, submit the appropriate application, and complete a home visit before being considered for placement.
