About Texas Communications Unit
When an emergency or planned event depends on reliable communications, TX-COMU provides State of Texas credentialed personnel to support the work. Based in Krugerville and formed in 2025, the organization also offers certified training and helps public safety professionals build the skills, credentials, and experience they need to serve. Your support helps strengthen communications across Texas agencies and jurisdictions while creating ways for experienced professionals and retirees to keep contributing.
TX-COMU pairs deployment of State of Texas credentialed communications personnel with certified, CISA-ECD recognized training and support for credentialing pathways. It also gives qualified public safety communications professionals and retirees a way to continue serving with their expertise.
