In rural Central Texas, The Women Empowerment Project helps women and families rebuild stability with support that meets real life where it is. WE Rise offers a 12-step path forward, while essentials, mentorship, referrals, and community connections help participants keep moving. Your gift can support practical needs today while helping women build longer-term independence, confidence, and safety.
The Women Empowerment Project pairs a clear 12-step stability pathway with yearlong, trauma-informed mentorship and practical support. Through WE Garden, the work also reaches households and neighborhoods by helping people grow food, share extra produce, and strengthen local food access.

WE Rise
A 12-step stability program that supports women with safety, mental health, identity and access, financial confidence, employment, education, health and wellness, relationships, community contribution, and long-term planning. Participants who complete all 12 steps receive a $1,200 Empowerment Award.
WE Garden
Provides seeds, shared growing spaces, gardening classes, and seasonal support so households can grow food. Participants learn gardening skills and may contribute extra produce to the Free Little Farm Stand.
WE Essentials
Supplies practical items such as toiletries, work clothing, school supplies, laundry detergent, and other household basics.
WE Connect
Connects women with volunteers, churches, civic groups, and skilled helpers for tutoring, home repairs, encouragement, and other practical support.
The Sisterhood
A community-based mentorship network in which trained, trauma-informed volunteers support participants for one year through biweekly in-person meetings, weekly check-ins, goal-setting, and compassionate accountability.
Housing and food referrals
Connects women and families in rural Texas with housing and food referrals and other resources.
Peer support and life-skills programs
Provides peer support and life-skills assistance to help women and families rebuild stability and independence.
